Poor me!

I've been feeling puny the past couple days. On Tuesday Jim and I walked down to Walgreen's to get flu and pneumonia vaccines. My pneumonia arm hurt a lot by evening--but I had been warned it might be a bit sore. I had a bad night and woke up really sick Wednesday morning--achy, wobbly and had a low-grade temperature. I was really miserable all day.

And to make me feel worse, I missed getting to go to the surprise birthday party that Callie had for Ben--starting at Tre Trattori (local popular restaurant) and ending with bond fire in their back yard. Jim went and had wonderful stories to tell about the group of friends (that Jim really likes), the cute house that Callie is sharing with Ben, Bardo the Great Pyrenees dog that bears a strong resemblance to a polar bear (I don't know how he is going to survive the Texas summers), and Homely the aggressive Tom cat that reached out his paw to stop Jim from passing by in order to get a pat and a pet!

I also had to miss my Asian Art class that I adore--have now missed 2 out of 5 classes--both for medical reasons!

I'm feeling a bit better today but still have a very sore arm and am pretty wimpy.

  1. I don't see your piece on Bradford's querry about food here. I had a similar response as you-ingredients, elements, not food per se.

Everywhere I went today people wanted to give me food! I made a quick Costco run in the early afternoon and every aisle I walked down had some delicious tasty or morsel...

I had to drop something off at my friend Linda's and she insisted I take split pea soup home for dinner. I always share my Costco spoils with the Centers and Massie sent me home with incredibly delicious roasted chicken and rice soup. He was also offering delicious samples of a beautiful bread he had made...along with a story about making sourdough starter after consulting the gurus at Central Market. I am now going to make pumpkin muffins to take to the education center tomorrow. The woman I share children with is having a birthday on Sunday so I am taking muffins and lunch as my gift-in lieu of something she doesn't want or need....

  2. So sorry for your pain and especially for missing Ben's surprise birthday party. Big news to me: he and Callie are living together? Whoa! I'd like Ben's mailing address if you have it. Hope you start feeling better soon.
